Everything is bigger in Texas, including weddings
Have y'all ever attended a wedding in Texas? If the answer is yes, you know what I'm talking about. Texans are known for their southern hospitality and big celebrations. (Everything is bigger in Texas, after all.) Weddings in Texas are just so much dang fun! I think it's because we have some of the most amazing people living in our Lone Star State. Read on to see why Texas weddings are so fun!!!
Hospitality and Warmth: Texans are known for their hospitality and friendly demeanor. Wedding guests often feel warmly welcomed and included, which creates a more enjoyable atmosphere. Even if you don't know anyone else attending the wedding, you are sure to make several friends by the end of the night. Texans know how to keep the conversation rolling and can talk to just about anyone as if they've known them their whole lives.
Lively Atmosphere: Texan weddings frequently include energetic music, particularly country and western songs that encourage guests to hit the dance floor. The vibrant music scene in Texas contributes to a festive ambiance. Y'all know there will be boot-scootin' to some 90's country if you attend a country wedding in Texas! Many of our DJ's here in Amarillo know exactly what you want when you say "fun reception music."
Food: Texan cuisine is renowned for its mouthwatering barbecue, Tex-Mex cuisine, and generous portions. These regional specialties are frequently featured at wedding receptions, delighting guests and contributing to the festive atmosphere. There's just something about that Texas BBQ that delights most taste buds. One of our favorite caterers, Desperado's Catering, makes the absolute best Texas barbecue around!
Traditions: Texas has its own unique wedding traditions, such as the groom's cake (often themed around his interests or hobbies), which add a personal touch and create memorable moments. Another tradition that Texans carry is that of bridal boots. It's not uncommon for Texas brides to wear cowboy boots under their wedding dress, especially if the wedding has a western or rustic theme. The boots symbolize Texas pride and add a touch of country charm to the attire. Many times, the boots are adorned with gems and bling to bring out the bride's personality.
Big Celebrations: Texans are known for their love of big celebrations, and weddings are no exception. The weddings tend to be grand affairs with large guest lists, ensuring there's always someone to mingle with and share the joy. It is common for our Texas wedding venue to see an average of 300-500 guests. After all, everything is bigger in Texas. Check out some of our seating plans for larger crowds.
Beautiful Venues: Texas offers a wide array of beautiful wedding locations, ranging from ranches and barns to sophisticated ballrooms and vineyards. This diversity enables couples to select a venue that complements their personal style. Check out our gallery pages to see our most recent weddings! Each venue is unique with its own character and charm. No matter the style of the wedding venue, I've always found some Texas niche in every Texas wedding venue I've toured. Check out Tin Top Gin and Rose Haven Venue, Lakefront Acres, and
Vista West Ranch four wedding venues in Texas that constantly support our wedding venue and help inspire us daily.
These factors combine to make Texas weddings memorable and enjoyable events that guests look forward to attending. If you are lucky enough to get invited to a Texas wedding, it will not disappoint! Grab your boots and cowboy hat and get ready for a good time. (And maybe a few tortillas to throw at the bride & groom...it's a Lubbock thing.)
Disclaimer: If y'all attend a wedding in Texas during football season, don't be alarmed by the group of people in the corner yelling at their phones while streaming the big game. Football is life around here, and is taken very seriously. Some guests will even coordinate their wedding attire with their team colors. It's just who we are and what we do. Whether it's high school, college football or the NFL, we take this very seriously. Go Cowboys & Go Texas Tech Red Raiders! This is absolutely why Texas weddings are so fun!!!
